Keep the fire burning with fierce flyweight contender Cynthia Calvillo

Music helped Calvillo a lot throughout her career. When she first started MMA, she was working full-time. She used to have to get up very early to get her training in before the workday began, most of the time by herself. During the beginning stages of her career, music kept her motivated to get through the tough, lonesome sessions.

Music has played an important role in all aspects of her life as a fighter, from the training, the travel, warming up backstage to making the walk to the Octagon. But it’s not just in her career that her mixes are important to her, but outside of competition as well. When it comes time to get away from it all, Calvillo likes to listen to Reggae music. Selina songs are near and dear to her heart, as anytime she hears them it reminds her of her childhood. Growing up Mexican American, her parents always used to play those songs.

Throughout most of her career, she would walk out to “Jump Around” by House of Pain, but recently she has changed it. When the victory is earned and it’s time to celebrate, “Birthday Song” by 2 Chainz is her go-to.

There are playlists to accompany every facet of her career and personal life. This tough-as-nails flyweight has been powering herself through music since the very beginning and continues to use her playlists as fuel to this day.

Get motivated by implementing the mixes of one of the most popular flyweight fighters into your daily routine, and flourish in life the same as Calvillo does.
